Initiated in 2006 under the direction of Robert Coyiuto Jr., Chairman PGA Cars, Inc., the Porsche Training and Recruitment Center Asia in the Philippines is made possible through the partnership and firm support of Porsche AG and the Don Bosco Technical Institute. The Program provides training and financial support to underprivileged but deserving Filipino youths to improve their skills and capabilities in the field of automobile repair.
The first training facility of its kind outside Germany, the program offers assistance to motivated young people, enabling them to gain further qualifications within six months at the Porsche Training and Recruitment Center Asia.
Yearly, approximately 30 young people receive this specialized Porsche training and graduate to be Porsche mechatronics with elevated opportunity to be employed in Porsche Centers in the emerging markets.
Sixteen students were selected by Porsche officials to be part of the second class of scholars and are ensured a complete training of both theory and practical work from Porsche Asia Pacific Technical Training Manager Thorsten Michael Hagel. The students also receive English and communication lessons to further prepare them for their future roles as Porsche technicians.
Today, these graduates will further advance and move forward as they take on their learning’s to even greater heights. |
